Our History
Stan and Pat Painter started The Painters Place in Larkspur CA in 1966. In 1978, they purchased a small old frame shop in the 500 block of Hayes Street in San Francisco. This shop grew from a one person storefront to its current 3 locations with multiple master craftspeople and designers.
The Painters Place today
I'm Matt Painter. Following in the tradition of my parents, Stan and Pat, since 1978, my passion and focus at The Painters Place continues to be the design and execution of finely crafted picture frames. I am personally involved with every project.
Our master craftspeople set us apart because we understand and execute the highest level of picture frame design and craft that can be found. Please let us demonstrate how we might apply this expertise for your special project.
